Benefits

The project represents a solution to the use of enormous quantities of treated water from oil and gas activities. In addition, the project aims at valorizing a waste feedstock for the production of biochar to be reused in agriculture, with significant agronomic and environmental implications (increase of carbon stock, soil fertility, carbon sequestration), demonstrating and enhancing at the same time the environmental benefit in terms of accounting for carbon sequestration and access of carbon credit exchange platforms.

The application of the intended solution will lead to a reduction in global emissions of greenhouse gases as the transformation of cotton stalk into biochar allows CO2 to be removed and fixed for hundreds of years in the soil; in addition, the proposed path will lead to economic recognition of the applied sustainable action. The project outputs described will benefit the cotton industry (producers, agencies, end users) - among other- for an unlimited time.

“Our carbon farming solution is aligned with the main global climate goal of achieving a zero emission economy by 2050”
