"The project represents a solution to the use of enormous quantities of treated water from oil and gas activities"

About the project

The projects activity involves :

  1. The development of a cotton crop in non-used lands in the Permian Basin

  2. The use for irrigation purposes of treated waste water from oil & gas activities

  3. The conversion of cotton residues (stalks) in biochar through a pyrolysis plant

  4. The use of the biochar in the land in which the cotton crop is developed

  5. The obtaining and selling of carbon credits as result of the whole process

As first project pilot seeks to produce 700 tons of biochar per year starting from more than 3000 tons of cotton residues, such quantity of biochar guarantees the sequestration of over 1500 tons of CO2 equivalent into the soil.
